Thanks for visiting!

Carolyn, Daughter of Marie is focused on providing uplifting, inspirational and spiritual poetry to all. After losing her mother, Marie Ashley-Wallace to domestic abuse at 7 years old, Carolyn found by writing poetry helped to ease some of her emotional pain. Her 27 year old mother of six was viciously stabbed to death by her father the Spring of 1968. She was unable to verbally discuss her feelings.

Writing poetry became her therapy, however, the real therapy began when she was finally able to verbally share her poetry & her life story with others. Her dream of publishing a book of poetry was answered May 2010 with her 1st book of poetry titled "CAROLYN, Daughter of Marie: A Collection of Poetry" . Her second book of poetry "Carolyn, Daughter of Marie II : A Collection of Poetry" will be released soon. Another book titled " Carolyn, Daughter of Marie: Till Death Did I Part" which will detail inspirational posts from this website is in the works and a novel titled "Dear Momma". Carolyn is also currently writing her autobiography titled "If You Took Away My Smile". No release date set yet. Carolyn is currently enrolled at Vance-Granville Community College in Henderson, NC to enhance her writing skills. Besides losing her mother to domestic abuse, she has lost several close family members through acts of domestic abuse. Their ages range from 4 years old to 88 years old. Carolyn believes by sharing her emotional, heartbreaking story and uplifting poetry with others may possibly serve as a healing tool for victims, their friends & families and/or serves as a deterrence to abusers.
